The opportunity

Learn by helping build something with momentum.

NYC Founders & Operators is a fast-growing community of more than 1,500 founders, senior operators, investors, and technologists. We organize founder breakfasts, rooftop socials, build sessions, workshops, and other curated programs across New York City.

You will work closely with Stephan Rihs and the team behind NYC Founders & Operators. Stephan is a three-time founder with a background spanning Coinbase, BCG, a Wharton MBA, and Harvard Kennedy School.

Choose a track

Build depth in one area.

Interns select a primary track and may support related work based on interest and community needs.

Events & Community

Support the planning and execution of founder breakfasts, rooftop socials, build sessions, workshops, and partner programs. Work may include guest research, attendee communication, operations, and follow-up.

Research & Writing

Research developments across AI, startups, venture capital, go-to-market, and the NYC technology ecosystem. Contribute to newsletters, founder resources, event briefings, and editorial projects.

Video, Editing & Social

Turn events, presentations, interviews, and written content into short videos and social posts. Help with editing, captions, packaging, and distribution.

Marketing & Outbound

Support community growth through thoughtful founder outreach, audience research, event promotion, newsletter distribution, and channel experiments.

Partnerships & Ecosystem

Research and develop relationships with investors, startup platforms, technology companies, professional services firms, universities, and other ecosystem partners.

What you will gain

A practical view of how startup ecosystems grow.

You will work on projects with visible outcomes and receive direct feedback. You will also gain exposure to founders, operators, investors, and technology companies across sectors and stages.

Depending on your track, you may help produce a live event, publish research or content, test a growth channel, develop an ecosystem partnership, or build a portfolio of work that demonstrates what you can do.
